1. THE PROMOTER

The promoter is Canon Europa N.V., registered at Bovenkerkerweg 59, 1185 XB, Amstelveen, the Netherlands (“Canon”).

2. ABOUT PROMOTION

2.1. Participants

2.1.1. All Participants must be aged 18 or over, and be a registered Student (with current valid Student ID) in one of these XX institutions listed below:

Distributors and retailers are excluded from the promotion and shall not be eligible to participate on behalf of their customers.

2.1.2. All Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2.2. Promotional Products, Territory, Gifts and Periods

2.2.1. This promotion is only available on purchases made of any of the selected products listed below (collectively “Promotional Products”):

2.2.2. Qualifying period for purchase of Promotional Products between the 1st of September, 2015 and the 31st of January, 2016 inclusive. (“Promotional Period”).

2.2.3. All Promotional Products must be purchased from retailers located within EEA & Switzerland.

2.2.4. Offer is only available on the purchase of one camera body and a maximum of 3 interchangeable lenses per student. Only 1 claim per student registration is permitted. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer.

2.2.5. All Promotional Products must be new and genuine Canon products. Purchases of second hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group companies in any way will not qualify under this promotion.

2.2.6. All the Promotional Products must have been supplied and distributed by Canon Europa N.V. or Canon group companies located in the EEA, Switzerland or Lichtenstein.

2.2.7.Promotional Products returned (free of default) to the seller shall not be valid for the promotion and Participants found claiming for these products shall not be eligible. If Canon becomes aware of any such fraud, it shall be free to take a legal action against any Participants involved.

3. How to Participate

3.1. To participate in the promotion, the Participant must purchase Promotional Products within the Promotional Period AND make a valid claim online between the 1st of September, 2015 and the 31st of January, 2016 inclusive.

3.2. To make a Claim, please complete the following:

(i) Correctly complete and submit an online claim form (including specifying valid product serial number(s) etc.) at canon.co.uk/student-cashback.

(ii) Scan, upload and attach to the online claim form a copy of your till receipt, or order confirmation for internet purchases (including VAT).

(iii) Participants will then receive an email confirming that their claim has been received. If the Participant fails to receive any confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting his/her claim, or does not have access to a computer, please contact our Claim Hotline on +44 (0) 207 660 0186.

3.3. Upon receipt and verification of the claim, Canon will arrange for a direct BACS transfer payment of applicable amount of cashback set forth in clause 2.2.1 to the Participant’s bank account. No alternative arrangement will be entered into and no cash or cheque will be provided.

3.4. Canon will endeavour to transfer via BACS within 28 days of receipt of a complete and valid claim.

3.5. Where a Participant fails to select one of the currencies offered in the claim form, one may be allocated at Canon’s absolute discretion.

3.6. Canon will not process any claims which are received after the closing date of the Promotion Period, or which are, at its sole discretion, incomplete or illegible. Canon will not be responsible for claims delayed or not successfully received.

3.7. Only one BACS payment will be issued per valid claim.

3.8. If you are VAT registered and you receive a cashback, it may reduce the taxable value of your purchase and so you may need to reduce your input tax accordingly.

4. DISCLAIMERS

4.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any Participant under this promotion. However, nothing in these terms and conditions shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon’s liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of Canon’s employees or agents.

4.2. Canon reserves the right to void, amend, and/or change this promotion at any time without incurring any liability whatsoever but will always endeavour to minimize the effect to the Participant in order to avoid undue disappointment.

4.3. Canon reserves the right to audit any claims to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and to request additional information and supporting documents. Canon reserves the right to exclude claims and/or Participants if it suspects that the promotion is being abused in any way.

Canon’s decisions in relation to the promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. DATA

5.1. Canon Europa N.V. and Canon Europe Limited registered in United Kingdom under a registration number 4093977 having a place of business at 3 The Square, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1ET, United Kingdom are the Data Controllers for the purposes of applicable personal data protection laws and regulations in respect of any personal data supplied by Participants in relation to this promotion. All personal data will be processed by Canon Europa N.V. and/or its group companies solely for the purpose of administering this promotion including supplying the information to third parties appointed to administer the promotion and/or for any authorized marketing purposes. If Participants do not wish for their contact information to be used for marketing purposes or to enable Canon to contact them in future regarding similar promotions, they should NOT check the relevant “opt-in” box when completing the claim form.

6. LAW AND JURISDICTION

To the extent permitted by law, these terms and conditions and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them and this promotion shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

As a consumer, you may be entitled to bringing court proceedings in your own language and in your local courts. A local consumer advice organization will be able to advise you of your rights. These terms and Conditions do not restrict your statutory rights.
